The stag party, as its called in the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Canada, is a tradition dating back to before records began. The groom will enlist the aid of a close companion to be his best man and it is then up to said companion to organise a no-holds-barred, all-out party for him to celebrate his wedlock. However, different customs are standard in different countries around the world and this article will look at how some of the worlds different cultures celebrate with the groom-to-be before marriage.

UK: The British stag party now usually stretches over more than one day, like a weekend or even a week away. A lot of the time the day will be taken up by activities of a laddish nature followed by night merriment and boozing. With cheap airlines on the rise, weeks or weekends away to affordable destinations are becoming more and more common, top of the popular destinations list are Riga, Dublin, Krakow and of course Amsterdam.

United States: In the United States the term stag party will rarely be heard because there it is referred to as a bachelor party and although they include pretty much the same kind of activities as a British stag party, the American version is more symbolic of the grooms last free days without being tied down to a marriage, whereas the British version is more a celebration of the marriage. Popular bachelor party destinations are Miami Beach, New Orleans, Chicago and (it almost goes without saying) Las Vegas.

Australia: In Australia, the celebration is known as a Bucks night and more often than not will feature topless waitresses / a stripper and a poker tournament. A lot of the time the guests of the party will subject the groom to some embarrassing forfeits such as stripping him down to his underwear (or sometimes nothing) and leaving him tied to a lamp post. It is also fairly common for the embarrassment to start early on in the night for the groom as he is often made to dress up like a women or wear a “mankini”.

Canada: In Canada, the celebration is also called a stag party and the most popular Canadian destinations include Montreal, Vancouver, Niagara Falls and Toronto, this is probably down to the amount of strip/lap dancing clubs in these locations. In Canada, the women’s equivalent of this party is sometimes referred to as a stagette, bachelorette or doe party

Denmark: In Denmark, they call a stag/bachelor party a Polterabend and it will usually stretch across a whole day. To start with, the group will usually meet for breakfast and will then proceed to take part in various day time activities, possibly such as kayak polo or paintball. The evening generally consists of dinner together, and then of course the night out where the large amounts of alcohol will be consumed. Strippers are sometimes included in the last stage of the day and the groom himself often will have no idea of exactly what day the Polterabend will start.

France: The French call the Stag party enterrement de vie de garcon which, literally translated, means burial of life as a young boy, and the same for women, but burial of life as a young woman (enterrement de vie de jeune fille.) Like in most English speaking countries, these celebrations often include large amounts of alcohol consumption and sometimes a stripper.

So, customs for stag/bachelor parties vary from country to country, but they are all based around the same idea, drunken care free behaviour, and quite often, strippers.

1c. Australia has been dubbed as the outdoor adventure capital of the world, and rightfully so. After all, Australia is home to spectacular natural landscapes and amazing wildlife, which provide endless opportunities for exciting activities to try out during your adventure holidays in Australia.

Diving - Australia is surrounded by many reefs, including the Great Barrier Reef on the northeast side, the largest coral reef in the world which stretches on for roughly 2,600 kilometres, and the Ningaloo Reef on the western side. These two reefs provide food and sanctuary for many colorful and interesting fishes, including whale sharks, doplhins and manta rays, and also create magnificent underwater spectacles which are certainly worth a diving expedition.

Kayaking and Canoeing - If you’d rather stay on top of the water’s surface, that’s fine, too, since there are many kayaks and canoes you can hire during your adventure holidays in Australia. You can go to the Bellinger river, for example, and book one of the many canoe trips there, which are available even at night under the light of the full moon. You can also go sea kayaking around Tasmania, one of the most picturesque islands of Australia.

Hiking - After exploring the waters, you can enjoy your adventure on land and one of the most popular land activities you can try is hiking, locally termed as bushwalking. The lush Blue Mountains in the southeast and the Kakadu National Park in the north are great places to go hiking because of their panoramic views, which you can also enjoy atop the saddle of a horse or a mountain bike.

Skiing - Even in winter, the adventure doesn’t end. For some, it becomes even better because the mountain slopes are coated with lots of snow, making them perfect for skiing. Victoria and Tasmania are especially known for their excellent ski resorts. In fact, Tasmania enjoys one of the greatest snowfalls, since it is the southernmost island of Australia and the last stop before Antarctica. Aside from skiing, Tasmania also offers a winter wonderland suitable for snowboarding and dog sledding.

Rock climbing and abseiling - If you want something even more exciting, you can try rock climbing as one of the activities for your adventure holidays in Australia. There are many cliffs and rock formations you can climb in Australia, especially in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, which vary in rock type, height and level of difficulty. Ice climbing is possible, too. On the way down, you can go abseiling or rappelling.

Bungee jumping - Bungee jumping is not for the faint of heart, but it can definitely be a memorable experience. Choose from many different bungee jumping establishments, along with various tourist packages. Most offer body harnesses for the utmost safety while some offer leg harnesses for genuine thrill-seekers. Aside from the adrenaline rush, you’re sure to enjoy the views, as well - if you keep your eyes open, that is.

Skydiving - As for air activities, there are also plenty to choose from, such as hang gliding, paragliding and hot air ballooning, although the most popular is skydiving where you can plunge down from up to a height of 10,000 feet. Indeed, with all the fun activities you can choose from, whether on land, water or air, you’re sure to enjoy every minute of your adventure holidays in Australia.

George Foreman

George Foreman is a household name with a long and storied career. He not only has the distinction of being pegged as one of the top 25 boxers of all time, he was also the oldest boxer to win a heavyweight title. A man of diverse talents, hes also an ordained Christian pastor with his own church, and an accomplished businessman in his own right.

He finished his amateur career with an incredible 27-0 record before turning professional in 1969. That year, he won a total of 12 fights, with 11 via knockout. The following year, he continued on in pursuit of the undisputed heavyweight title by winning every one of his 12 fights in 1970, again with 11 of them by knockout. In 1971, Foreman won seven more victories. He had earned a phenomenal record of 32-0 by then, and was considered by the WBC and WBA to be the top challenger. Foreman continued his victorious streak with an additional five victories in 1972. He won each of these victories in three rounds.

Foreman retained his heavyweight title until 1974 when he defended his title against Mohamed Ali, the former champion. This bout was known as “The Rumble in the Jungle” and was fought in Zaire. This was Foremans first defeat in his professional boxing career. After this defeat, Foreman remained inactive throughout 1975.

Foreman kept his heavyweight title until 1974, when he was pitted against the former heavyweight champion, Mohamed Ali. This bout, dubbed The Rumble in the Jungle was fought in Zaire. This match marked Foremans first defeat in his entire professional boxing career. Foreman disappeared from the boxing scene for the rest of 1975 in the face of this crushing defeat.

In 1976, Foreman made his comeback. He continued fighting until he experienced what he describes as a near death experience in Puerto Rico in 1977. Foreman described becoming suddenly and deathly ill in his dressing room after losing a match to Jimmy Young in a 12 round decision. He was terrified by this sudden illness, and turned to God for help. Foreman recounts that God asked him to change his ways, and Foreman became a devout, born again Christian. Foreman jokes that Jimmy Young literally knocked the devil out of him.

He has a large family, ten children, five boys, and five girls. He named all five of his sons George. In order of age they are George Jr., George III, George IV, George V and last but not least George VI.

Foreman is the father of a large family of ten children, including five boys and five girls. Each of Foremans sons is named George. From eldest to youngest, they are George Jr., George III, George IV, George V, and of course, George VI.

Foreman made a second comeback in 1988 after ten years away from the ring. He announced that he would be returning to boxing at the unheard of age of 38. His goal was to prove that age did not have to be a barrier to achieving ones dreams. That year, he went on to win eight fights, though none of his challengers were rated contenders. Foreman won a string of memorable victories, as well as some notable defeats.

Foreman went on to break two boxing records when he regained the heavyweight title after successfully challenging Michael Moorer in Las Vegas on November 5, 1994. He not only became the oldest boxer to win the world heavyweight title; he also broke the record for longest interval between championship wins. He kept boxing until his second retirement in 1999.

Foreman was named the ninth greatest puncher of all time in 2003, when he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Foremans other notable business ventures include commercial appearances for Meineke Mufflers, and promoting his own George Foreman Grill. In 2004, he started marketing his brand of Big and Tall clothing through Casual Male.

In 1993, he starred in his own sitcom. Hes also been a judge on American Inventor, a TV reality series. Most recently, Foreman appeared in a July 2008 reality show titled Family Foreman which featured George and his family.

Foreman has authored four books, all of which detail his life experiences. Given Foremans many notable and interesting experiences, these books are likely to provide interesting reading.

Located between Greece and Romania, Bulgaria is an often overlooked travel destination. This is a pity, though, since there is a wealth of beautiful and interesting Bulgaria attractions.

Valley of the Thracian Kings - The valley of Kazanluk, also known as the Rose Valley, is the site of impressive tombs and burial mounds, the most famous of which is the Kazanluk Tomb. Along with the lavishly decorated Sveshtari Tomb near the town of Isperih, the Kazanluk Tomb has been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is one of the most popular Bulgaria attractions.

Rila Monastery - Built in the 10th century, the Rila Monastery is the largest and most famous monastery in Bulgaria, which is why it is one of the best Bulgaria attractions. It has also been listed as a World Heritage Site, particularly for its impressive library, beautiful frescoes, old wood carvings and its gold-plated iconostasis.

The Assumption Bochkava Monastery and the Rozhen Monastery are also Bulgaria attractions worth visiting. Both have spectacular iconostases, too, as well as other stunning artwork. In fact, the Assumption Bochkava Monastery has one of the oldest wood-carved iconostases in Bulgaria.

Church of Saint Sophia - Aside from its monasteries, Bulgaria has many remarkable old churches, which include the famous Church of Saint Sophia. Located in the Bulgarian capital, the three-nave domed basilica is both a religious centre and a national monument. Although not as popular, the Saint Trinity village church made entirely out of stone is also an imposing sight.

Roman Ampitheatre - Plovdiv is the third largest city in Bulgaria, as well as an ancient city known for its magnificent architectural feats, particularly the Roman Ampitheatre. Dating back to the 2nd century, the Roman Ampitheatre is currently the stage for many of the country’s large-scale musical performances. It is also located near other Bulgaria attractions in Plovdiv, such as the Balabanov House and the Museum of Icons.

Pirin National Park - When it comes to natural attractions, Bulgaria has a lot to offer, too, such as the Pirin National Park, which is another World Heritage Site in Bulgaria. This park is the site of two nature reserves which are homes to over 3,000 species of plants and animals, many of which are endangered. Other natural attractions in Bulgaria include the Belogradchik rock formations and the Strandzha Nature park, the largest national park in Bulgaria.

Black Sea Coast - If you want to soak up the sun and the sand on the beach, you can do so at one of the seaside resorts in Bulgaria. In fact, these resorts, particularly Sunny Beach, are what most tourists come to Bulgaria for. It is just one reason to visit Bulgaria, though, since, as you just learned, there are many other awesome Bulgaria attractions you should definitely see at least once in a lifetime.

Planning to mount the one that didn’t get away? Immortalize that fishing trip by taking your trophy to the taxidermist to get it mounted. Get the best fish trophy for your money by following a few tips.

First, find a fish taxidermist before you go on your trip. You should look for a person who specializes in fish taxidermy, since this is a difficult field. You want somebody with lots of experience mounting fish. Look at your taxidermist’s work. Is it beautiful? You’ll have your trophy for a long time, so you want to make sure you get a fine piece of furniture. While you’re there, talk to the fish taxidermist about the types of mounts you might want and the prices for various types of trophies.

Second, before you go on your fishing trip, plan for your trophy. You’ll want to take a photo of your fish after you catch it, so bring a camera. The picture will help your taxidermist match the natural colors of the fish. Pliers will help you get the hook out easily. You don’t want to mar the fish since any blemishes could show up in the final mount. Finally, take ice and plastic to pack your fish in. Water will make the colors fade faster, so wrap the fish in plastic before you pack it in ice.

Lastly, think about what type of mount you want before you bring your fish to the taxidermist. Will you mount the fish on the wall? On the mantle? What pose do you want for your fish? Talking about this with the taxidermist will be easier if you’ve put some thought into it beforehand.

Challenge is not only knowing how to wakeboard but knowing the right gears for wakeboarding as well. You need a lot of thing to know before you get in the fun of wakeboarding and that information is just available anywhere.

Don’t jump on the first wakeboard that you see in the store just because it’s stylish. First, you have to know your skill level. Also, wakeboards have different features, so you also need to know the type or style of boarding that you want to do. Remember that the shape and size of a wakeboard determine its performance.

If you are beginner, choose a board with good stability and the one that you can have more control on. Usually, neophytes prefer a board with square edges. For advance riders are dare big air tricks, the board with rounded edges best suit their skill. This design helps to make air tricks easier to land. It also helps give the board more speed and lift when jumping.

Wakeboards come in two tip designs: the single tip and double tip. Single tip boards are pointed at the one end and squared off at the other end while double tips are rounded at both ends which make switching directions and landing tricks easier. Also, double tipped boards are more available in stores

Double tipped boards are best for beginners. It allows an easy execution of some basic skills like changing board direction. Also, it is much lighter and easier to jump with.

You will also be needing fins for your board and your riding style. Longer fins make you feel more stable on the board as they track easily on water. Shorter fins will release from the water more easily and give a much looser feeling on the board. If your wakeboard didn’t come with a set of fins, as it usually does, then you have to pick up one.

Secure your rope to the pylon or tower and it depends on the wake created by the boat. The closer you are to the boat, the smaller the wake will be. If you are new to this, you probably want a smaller wake anyway. When you get better, move from the boat to get a bigger wake.

Beginners prefer to stay closer to the boat but not too close to experience the rooster tail. It’s the term commonly used for the splash of water that shoots up at the start of the boat’s wake. But as you get more comfortable, you can start extending your rope farther to where the larger wakes are. Also, a longer rope will allow you to take a longer cut at the wake, gaining more speed and allowing you to get bigger air.

One of the secondary professions in WoW is Fishing. You can choose fishing as a secondary profession and by doing so sharpen your hunting skills and get access to fish all of the waters in the World of Warcraft.

Through fishing you are able to find food and a range of other items. Hunter can use food to feed their pets and some items can be cooked to better their effects. Through fishing you can also find treasure chests and at times reagents which are useful for Alchemy.

To be able to fish you need to first level your character up to level 5. You’ll then need to find a fishing trainer. Fishing trainers are located next to the water where you start fishing and each race has its own unique trainer.

Fishing trainers are located at numerous places throughout the game, but to start with you’ll need to go to the following places:

Humans begin Fishing at Goldshire, Taurens near Bloodhoof Village, Gnomes to the North of Brownall Village, Dwarves also start just north of Brownall Village. The location where Orc’s and Trolls start out is just south of Sen’jin in the Sea, and the Undead begin in the lake east of Brill.

Night Elves can choose between 3 different fishing starting spots, the lake to the south of Dolenaar, the sea close to Rut’Theran Village, and the waters around Darnassus.

If you are already an experienced WoW player you can fish anywhere you like.

You might find it useful to grow your characters fishing ability in line with your character leveling. In other words, space out the fishing skill leveling across different levels. One tip that has worked well for some players is to max your fishing ability out at 150 for level 10, you’ll then be a powerful fighter with the fishing pole.

Fishing is a profession that’s easy to learn, and that can be very useful. The only real necessity to mastering this profession is time. If you’re willing to put the time in to learn fishing, you’ll eventually be able to fish the lucrative waters of Azshara and make some serious money.

This part of our guide to holidays in Greece sees us covering shopping and money…

Greece isn’t renowned for its shopping, but it does offer some unique and quality local products. Special purchases include lace, jewelry, metalwork, pottery, knitwear, rugs, leather goods, local wines and spirits, and local handicrafts.

Nearly all Greek cities have large international-style shopping malls with well recognized brands and retailers. But prices are similar to those in other parts of Europe, so you won’t find any real bargains unless sales are underway.

Haggling is only tolerated in tourist souvenir stores and in some family-owned arts and crafts shops. But in all other cases it achieves nothing and is considered rude. In places where haggling is accepted, you can get at least 10-20% off the price, and being able to speak a little Greek is likely to help you get the lowest possible price.

Value Added Tax (VAT) is charged on most items (this is usually but not always included in the item’s price tag) but some shops offer tax free shopping to non-EU residents. This means that non-EU residents can ask for a VAT refund at their port of exit in the EU. To do so, ask for a VAT voucher before leaving the store and show that along with your items to the customs officer upon departure from the EU.

Greece’s official currency is the Euro, and other currencies won’t be accepted at all. You can easily exchange currency can easily in larger cities and in any touristed area though. Banks tend to offer the best exchange rates, followed by specialist shops, and then automated currency exchange machines. When changing money, it’s a good idea to get mostly smaller notes, and nothing larger than a 50, as many businesses will be reluctant to accept them.

ATM machines are present almost everywhere and Mastercard, Visa, and Eurocard are widely accepted in retail stores, hotels, and travel agencies, but are not accepted at some restaurants and local souvenir shops.
